The 2017 Kia Niro is Kia’s newest improvement for their line-up of successful vehicles. Unique about it is that it’s the first actual subcompact cross-over they offer. Of course, they have the Sportage and Sorento, but these are both full-sized SUVs and are exactly what makes the subcompact cross-over therefore popular. It’s a car that appears like an SUV, but does not come with the same measurement, weight and frankly, price.
TheÂ cool and electric 2016 Kia SoulÂ is actually the closest thing Kia presents for a cross-over. But, that one speaks to only a small portion of the public, because of its cool appearance.
All in all, it’s more than time for Kia to really join the subcompact crossover market and their Niro model will be a fine prospect for a spot. Also, the 2017 Kia Niro is a hybrid model, actually putting some interesting price to this new crossover.
2017 Kia Niro Exterior design
The car was officially unveiled at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show and according to Kia’s vice president solution planning with a design â€œthat does not shout hybrid&rdquo ;.We think the VP is talking about the likes of theÂ 2017 Toyota Prius Prime’s lack of aestheticsÂ and the Prius-inspired, yetÂ less big and bulky 2017 Hyundai Ioniq. Anyhow, the 2017 Kia Niro does look great, although not so interesting or groundbreaking. The front of the car features that recognizable tiger-nose grille, which is quite huge in comparison to different Kia vehicles sporting it. Then there are the headlights, a pair of sharp pointed, somewhat straight units. The foglights are positioned on the lower part of the vehicle on a dark air port with two magic sides embellishing them. Ultimately, there are two straight air ports at sometimes side of the car front, correct in-front of the wheels.
The side distinguishes it self by showing a standard SUV profile. Over the side windows a chrome line is added and the lower door systems have a deep crease over it. The wheel arches are perfectly round and are a dark plastic material. That’s a shame, we think the 2017 Kia Niro could have seemed far better if there were body coloured wheel arches.
In the rear we see some design cues formerly discovered on the Kia Sportage. The small rear window and certificate plate room and large located taillights are quite recognizable as such. New elements consist of taillight design, tailgate spoiler and body-coloured fender part with metal inserts.

The interior looks clean and clutterfree, not an simple thing to get right.
