2018 Lincoln Navigator Price, Interior, Engine, Release Date

By | June 8, 2017

The new generation of Lincoln’s largest and most high-priced SUV may enter into generation that year. The production of the new 2018 Lincoln Navigator will take place at the Kentucky Monitor Place in Louisville and model should move for sale by 2018. We do not have all specifics about the new-gen Navigator but the Lincoln Concept which was presented at the last New York Auto Show give us the idea how the production edition should look and what features should offer.

NEW FOR 2018:

The new Navigator is again expected to offer chairs for approximately eight individuals and ahead in standard or extended wheelbase. It will remain body-on-frame design as the new Expedition and may follow very similar look as the Navigator Concept model. Upgraded powertrain and interior design will even come with the latest computer and safety features.

2018 Lincoln Navigator

Nothing has technically been claimed about the design of the new 2018 Lincoln Navigator, but we do not have any doubt that new model will feature largely identical look as the Lincoln Navigator Concept. The Continental sedan moved to generation with the almost identical look that has been previewed on Continental Concept and the same should be with the new Navigator.

The full-size SUV may, like the new Continental and MKZ, follow brand’s new face with the mesh grille that changes split-wing design. The headlight should look similar as on the Concept model. The same we expect with the full-width design of the taillights. Body sculpting should also get enthusiasm from the Navigator Concept. We hope that attractive design of the wheels will even shift from the Concept version to the production.

On the other hand, what we should perhaps not expect on the production versions are the fold-down staircase and gullwing doors.

As for the interior design, we should also expect to copy the Concept model. Clean rush, modern instrument section and several monitors should also be seen in the production version. The piano-like gear selection might also head to production. However, we will get eight or eight seating agreement like on the current edition and perhaps not six-seater design from the concept.

The new Navigator will even get the latest infotainment and safety features. The lane maintaining support, surround-view cameras, automated crisis braking, lane departure caution and more active safety methods will soon be available in the new Navigator.

2018 Lincoln Navigator

Under the hood of the new 2018 Lincoln Navigator may again sit the 3.5-liter turbocharged V-6 engine. The current model gets 380 hp and torque of 460 pound-feet. However, the new version of this twin-turbocharged and primary injected engine might produce more than 400 hp.

This new Navigator will also use  Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission instead of the current six-speed unit. It will also follow Ford’s new platform and possibly aluminum body panels like the new Expedition.

With Lincoln’s continually managed damping and flexible steering, the new Navigator may provide the smoother ride.

The new-gen 2018 Lincoln Navigator may occur in the second half of this year.  The price shouldn’t move much from the current range.
